Happy New Year! Everyone!

Thank you for stopping by to either read or drop a line.

It's such a joy to know that you're always there.

I know I'm kinda late, I mean 2013 ended about 70days ago which is not as recent as I like to think it is. But like my mama would always say "Its morning whenever you wake up".

Last year was a beautiful year for me no matter how I look at it because I love to see my life as a script and God as the Writer and Director. After you've watched a movie for the 1st time, there's never another 1st time for the same movie. Two things are certain - You cannot change the end of the movie no matter how hard you want it to be different and you always know how it ends no matter how unsure the plot is. You've seen the movie. You know its characters. You know the story. You know the end.

That's pretty much my life and yours too. God already put your story together, he already wrote the end and it is beautiful :-) . According to Romans 8:37 you are more than a conqueror in ALL things and 1 Corinthians 15:57 reminds us that we have victory through our Lord Jesus. So you have nothing to fret or worry about. Your story's end was determined before it even started. Just trust the Director. Lean on Him. Rely on His leading. Pay attention to Him and watch your life unfold before your eyes. He makes no mistakes. Nothing happens to you, as His child, without his knowing. It's all part of the script. Its not a mistake. Instead of sitting in the past or continuing to look back at what might have been; look ahead, forgive yourself and others if you need to, pick up courage and continue on your way.

Never doubt God's intention for you.
Isaiah 55:8 lets us know "This plan of mine is not what you would work out, neither are my thoughts the same as yours!". So relax and let Him sort you out. You're worth all of God's love and attention. God's promises are never probabilities so don't be afraid to depend on them with unwavering faith.

Thank you for reading.

That House - Flat 13A RdE37

Today as I write this, my heart's heavy. My mind's flooded with memories of what was....of the building...the house that once stood as "home" to me.

Where Does This Road Lead?

I've had several things I planned to write about recently...until a few minutes ago when I spoke with a colleague at work who is in the middle of a series of professional examination. The dialogue:

Me: Hey, how did your exam go yesterday?
Him: can't even imagine what happened!

Purposeful Pain

I’m so excited about this post and the message that it contains and I really hope that by the time you’re done reading, you’d feel a new gusto and zest of life….renewed fervor to pursue your dreams irrespective of the obstacles lined on the way.
The inspiration for this post (…this is almost becoming my opening line, abi?) is a few things I've been going through and how in the midst of it all, God has “led me beside still waters….restoring my soul”.

33 years....and going stronger!

"I am the last child of 3 kids; I have an elder brother and sister. I was born in the USA, and having spent all my life there, I speak with an accent. I have been to Nigeria a couple of few, I can count them on my fingers. First was when my paternal grandfather died (even though I was only a few months, it still counts right?). Then I went again many years later when my maternal grandmother died. After that, I have gone a few more times....maybe 2 or 3, I don't remember as I type this. I live and work in the USA and I'm married to a white black...and handsome American guy who's committed to God and to me. In addition to my 9-5, I also work with an orphanage and mentor young girls on sexual and reproductive health and other issues.

OMG! You're Pregnant!

The inspiration for this post came from two different sources; a tweet I read by Marshawn Evans (author of "Skirts in the Boardroom") earlier today and a story about George Dantzig . If you're like me and have never heard about Mr. Dantzig until now, please read a bit about him here and scroll down to the bit on "Mathematical Statistics"....interesting how a single event can shape your entire future...but that's story for another day (please remind me to tell it :-))
